Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Mike Groselle scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds as The Citadel registered a 62-51 win over Appalachian State in a Southern Conference battle at McAlister Field House.

The Mountaineers (12-16, 7-10) were paced by Nathan Healy with a game-high 19 points, while Andre Williamson notched 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds off the bench as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.

ASU led by four points in the opening minutes of the first half, but the team shot only 8-of-25 from the floor and 1-of-7 behind the three-point line in the period, allowing The Citadel to move out to a 26-19 advantage at the break. The Bulldogs connected on 54.5 percent from the floor in the frame.

In the second half the Mountaineers again had their issues on the perimeter (2-of-15), during which time the Bulldogs were converting 20-of-27 at the free-throw line to secure the win.
