Cleveland State to a 65-47 rout of Loyola-Chicago in a Horizon League matchup
at the Gentile Center.
Trevor Harmon, Aaron Pogue and Anton Grady each chipped in 10 for Cleveland
State (19-4, 9-2 Horizon) which has won four straight.
Joe Crisman's 14 points paced Loyola-Chicago (5-17, 0-12) which has lost
10 straight and remains winless in conference play.
Cleveland State led 26-18 at the half by shooting 58.8 from the floor and
playing solid defense in holding Illinois-Chicago to 30.8 percent shooting
in the opening period.
In the second half the Vikings stretched their lead even further and led by
as many as 19 points by shooting a scorching 75.0 percent from the floor.
Illinois-Chicago kept the game from getting too out of hand by converting on
52.4 percent of its field goal attempts in the second stanza.
Cleveland State dished out 15 assists, collected 12 steals and blocked six
shots as a team in the win. Loyola-Chicago took a slim margin on the boards
outrebounding the Vikings 23-22.
