Albany, NY (Sports Network) - Darius Conley scored 15 points and brought in
six rebounds as Saint Peter's roared back to stun Siena, 63-58, in a
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference bout at the Times-Union Center.
Lamin Fulton, Yvon Raymond and Brandon Hall each added 11 for Saint Peter's
(5-18, 4-8 MAAC) which ended a five game losing skid.
Kyle Downey had a team-high 15 points and Evan Hymes scored 14 and dished
out six assists for Siena (10-12, 5-7) which had won two of its previous
three games. O.D. Anosike, the nations leading rebounder, collected 13
boards for the Saints.
Siena looked as if it would cruise to victory with the Saints leading 28-19
at the break. Siena shot 43.5 percent from the floor in the half and limited
Saint Peter's to just 34.6 percent shooting.
In the second half Saint Peter's surged to a 63.6 percentage from the floor
while Siena dipped to just 40.7 percent shooting in the second period. Saint
Peter's took the lead for good with 5:22 left on a Raymond layup that made
the score 51-49 and capped a 14-3 run.
Siena outrebounded Saint Peter's 33-29 but it was the Peacocks who were the
dominant offensive team inside outscoring the Saints 30-16 on points in the
paint.
