JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Wide Receiver Jarrett Dillard will be the Jaguars' representative at the NFL's annual courage award dinner.
Dillard, a 2009 draft pick, spent much of his first two years battling injuries, has played in 12 games so far this season, grabbing 23 receptions and one touchdown.
The team voted him the 2011 Ed Block Courage Award winner, and award handed out by each of the NFL's 32 teams to the player who "exemplifies a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage and serves as a role model in the community," according to a news release from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Ed Block spent more than 20 years with the Baltimore Colts after earning a Purple Heart in World War II.
The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse.
