JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Athletic Director for Duval Public Schools, Jon Fox, has been named as an inductee to the Florida High School Hall of Fame.

Fox will join 12 others selected for the 2012 class of inductees.

Fox began coaching after he graduated college in 1974.  After eight years as the coach and athletic director at Mandarin High School, Fox was appointed the district athletic director in 2000.

Fox helped organize and coordinate fundraising efforts to save 12 sports programs in Duval public schools that were in jeopardy of being cut due to budget constraints for the 2011-2012 school year.

He visits school sites weekly to ensure student-athletes are properly documented to participate in athletic programs.

He is also working to develop the "Save Our Sports" Foundation.

Fox is part of the 22nd group to be inducted into the Florida High School Hall of Fame.  Included in his class of inductee is Bolles alumni Larry "Chipper" Jones who is best known for playing for the Atlanta Braves.

The induction ceremony will take place Sunday, April 29th, at 7 p.m. at the Best Western Gateway Grand in Gainesville.
