GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida will be without one of its best defensive lineman against Ohio State in the Gator Bowl.
Coach Will Muschamp says defensive tackle Dominique Easley will miss the Jan. 2 game after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Florida State on Nov. 26.
Easley, a sophomore from Staten Island, N.Y., had 37 tackles and 1 ½ sacks this season. He injured his knee early in the second quarter against the Seminoles, who went on to win the game 21-7.
Without Easley, Jaye Howard and Omar Hunter likely will play more against the Buckeyes. Sharrif Floyd also could move inside from his defensive end position.
Muschamp says everyone else, including quarterback John Brantley, should be fine for the bowl game. Brantley sustained a concussion against FSU.
