Bolles senior offensive tackle John Theus
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- John Theus, one the most coveted football recruits in the country recently announced that he will attend the University of Georgia in the fall of 2012.
Theus, a senior-to-be at The Bolles School, is the top offensive tackle in the country according to some recruiting websites. Rivals.com lists him as the 7th ranked prospect in the country. Scout.com has him at #4 overall while 247sports.com lists him at #6, and ESPN.com has him ranked 28th on their list.
This past Friday night, John gave a verbal commitment to Georgia head coach Mark Richt at "Dawg Night," a yearly showcase of top recruits in Athens, GA. Yulee High School running back Derrick Henry and Camden County High School quarterback Brice Ramsey, both juniors from this area, also gave a pledge to the Bulldogs.
Verbal commitments are non-binding until National Signing Day in February. Theus expects other schools to continue to recruit him until he signs his letter of intent. If John keeps his commitment to the University of Georgia, then he'll join his older brother Nathan who will be a freshman long snapper for the Bulldgos this season.
