ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. --The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office  released a composite sketch Tuesday in a shooting from Friday night.

According to police, 50-year-old Jerry Murdock Jr., was found inside the front door of his mobile home on County Road 214 with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Murdock told police he was coming home with his girlfriend when he "heard a pop sound and stumbled inside."

The victim did not report seeing anyone.  He was taken to Flagler Hospital by St. Johns County Fire Rescue.

Police are unsure if the victim was intentionally targeted at this time.  The area behind the victim's residence is rural and gun shots are often heard in the area, according to police.

Detectives are asking for the public's assistance in identifying and locating a man who was observed in the area earlier in the week.

A neighbor observed a white man who appeared to be in his 20s driving a white, late 1990s Ford F-150 step-side standard cab truck with tinted windows in the area.  The truck also had the rear window spray painted black with overspray on the metal edges of the window, according to police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Thomas Marmo with the St. Johns County Sheriff's office at 904-209-2191.  If you would like to remain anonymous you may contact CrimeStoppers of N.E. Florida at 1-888-277-TIPS.
