JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Eleven Duval County teachers are getting their jobs back.
According to an email from Duval County Public Schools spokesperson Jill Johnson, all but three of 14 positions eliminated earlier this month will be reinstated.
Johnson indicated the individual schools found the money because they realized the importance of having those teachers.
The district will be contacting the three other teachers as positions open up in their certification areas, Johnson said.
Initially, 18 positions were slated for elimination, but Johnson said four guidance counselor positions were re-added in the previous board meeting.
