PALM COAST, Fla. -- An armed robbery suspect didn't get what he wanted, but he did get away.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office reported a robbery shortly after 3 a.m. today at the Microtel Inn near the intersection of Palm Coast Parkway and Interstate 95.

According to a statement from the FCSO, the clerk reported that he left the desk to take care of a laundry problem, and when he returned a suspect grabbed him and pointed a handgun at his face.
The man reportedly threatened to shoot the clerk and wanted access to the safe. Only the manager can open the safe, the clerk told the suspect, and she's in the back.

The man ordered the clerk to get the manager, but when the clerk approached her, she refused.
Unable to get into the safe, the suspect tied up the clerk and stole his wallet. The clerk said he last saw the suspect running across the parking lot.
The suspect is described as a black male, 6'3" or 6'4" in his late 20s or early 30s with a tear drop tattoo near one eye and an oval-shaped birthmark on one cheek.
"We need to find this man and get him off the street," said Flagler County Sheriff Donald Fleming.
