PALATKA, Fla. -- Police are looking for a person they say may be behind the shooting of a local florist.
According to a news statement, Palatka Police Department, 32-year-old Louis Howell III, was at his business on Crill Avenue, Flowers by Louis, Thursday night.
Someone called police shortly after 8:30 saying someone had been shot.
When officers got to the scene, they found Howell with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken first to Putnam Community Hospital, then to Shands Gainesville, where he remained in critical condition today.
Police said there was evidence of a struggle at the business, but they have not determined a potential motive behind the struggle or the shooting.
Howell's car is also missing, and police believe their person if interest may have taken following the shooting.
Police want to speak to Robert Lee Williams, 20. His last known residence was in Pomona Park, but police believe he also frequents Palatka and other parts of North Central Florida.
If you know anything that can help police find Williams, call Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477). You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
