Note: Jackelyn Barnard is no longer at First Coast News

Jackelyn Barnard was the Chief Investigative Reporter for First Coast News. She joined the FCN staff in April 2001 as a reporter and fill-in anchor.

While at FCN, Jackelyn has won an Edward R. Murrow award for an investigation on a missing 14 year old girl, as well as numerous Associated Press awards for reporting, and was honored with an Emmy for team coverage on the Columbia Shuttle disaster.

Jacksonville is the latest stop on Jackelyn's tour of the southeast. She's worked at stations in Georgia and Louisiana. In Augusta, Georgia, she was the weekend anchor/reporter, then promoted to 11pm anchor. While in Augusta, Jackelyn was awarded Georgia's school bell award for excellence in education reporting.

Jackelyn also worked in Alexandria, Louisiana, where she was the weekend anchor and crime reporter. She got her start in television in Morgan City, Louisiana. There, she learned the tricks of the trade as a one man band. She carried the camera, shot her stories, wrote, edited and anchored everyday.

Jackelyn is a mass communications graduate of Louisiana State University. She is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, so you can guess what her favorite hobby is--cheering for the BEST football team on earth--the fighting TIGERS of LSU!

In her spare time, she follows that old Louisiana saying, "laissez les bon temps rouler" (let the good times roll). She likes to read, watch movies, shop and go to the beach with her dog, a weimeraner, named Cheyenne.
