JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A school bus crash with multiple injuries shut down two northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at Collins Road for nearly two hours.

At least eight students on the bus, which was heading to Chimney Lakes Elementary, are being treated for minor injuries, according to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue spokesperson Tom Francis.

There were originally no injuries reported in this crash, according to District Chief D.K. Hooten, who said JFRD was called to the scene only to clean up fluid from the accident.

Hooten said the Assistant Principal of Chimney Lakes Elementary arrived at the crash site, and after checking with students, called for medical assistance. JFRD then transported the eight students to Shands, Baptist, and Orange Park Medical Center.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. and blocked two northbound lanes on Roosevelt Boulevard, which reopened just before 9:15 a.m.
