KEYSTONE HEIGHTS, Fla. -- A brush fire in Clay County that burned about twenty acres on Saturday is now contained but not out.
The fire is known as the "Bridge Fire" and is burning in a dry lake bed. Fire crews will return on Sunday to continue "mop up" operations which will maintain the fire containment within the current fire lines.
According to John Ward with Clay County Emergency Management, there was no damage to homes or injuries reported. State Road 100 and County Road 219 were closed for safety and visibility reasons, but those roads are now open.
Officers from the Clay County Sheriff's office and the Florida Highway Patrol will be monitoring the smoke conditions on the roadway throughout the night, if conditions warrant the road will be closed due to limit visibility on the roads from the smoke that is in the area form the fire.
