NEW YORK -- Wall Street's key averages could manage only a mixed finish on Friday.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 46 points, or 0.4 percent, to 12,950.
The S&P 500 rose 3 points, or 0.2 percent, to 1,361. The Nasdaq composite fell 8 points, or 0.4 percent, to 2,952.
The Dow last crossed the 13,000 milestone in May 2008.
For the week, the averages were up 1.2 to 1.7 percent.
