NEW YORK (AP) - Stocks closed narrowly mixed in Tuesday trading. The Dow has now moved fewer than 100 points in 13 trading sessions. That's the longest period of relative calm since March and April of last year.
In the latest session, the Dow fell 33 points, or 0.3 percent, to 12,676. The S&P fell 1 point to 1,315. The Nasdaq added 2 points to 2,787.
Rising stocks slightly outnumbered falling ones on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume was lighter than average at 3.7 billion shares.
